A long maturation is often the key to a great whisky, full of powerful aromas and complexity. To add further character to this Speyside malt, we finished the two casks in first fill Oloroso wood for the last eight and a half years… and the result is a perfectly classic sherried whisky. Extremely dry, winey, very powerful, with a spicy, raisiny and nutty nose: the influence of the Oloroso is dominant and charming, with its notes of red cherries, coffee and dark chocolate. The same exuberant intensity is also found at the palate, for a truly exciting experience: again very winey, with peppery tannins, and a juicy sweet and sour fruity character (again red cherries, peaches, bitter oranges). Truly a mindblowing sherry monster.
