Another young but complex and refined bottling of this affordable and easily drinkable Speyside malt, as usual very soft and fragrant. Sherry maturation adds delicately nutty and biscuity notes to a flowery malt rich in honey, apples, pears, apricots and candied oranges. Nose and palate are rich but velvety, with a beautiful character that conjures contrasting images both of autumnal landscapes (damp earth and dead leaves) and of sunny meadows in which the freshly cut grass turns to hay. Only towards the end, a slight hint of spicy and tannic oakiness raises its head, reminding of the important influence of the wood. A perfect everyday malt!
