Another proof that age does not always matter, this intense Islay malt could easily be mistaken for any much older whisky from the best and most beloved distilleries of the island. Heavily peated, with a particularly tarry, maritime and pungent note of smoke both at nose and palate, it also has a rich round body and juicy malty sweetness, with all the complexity that comes from the influence of the finest oak casks. Liquorice root, peanuts, ripe bananas, and a very medicinal overtone are just some of the elements that keep the whisky intriguing after the initial blast of peat. One of the wildest releases of House Malt that we have had in recent years!
