Like with the Malt Maniacs Awards gold medal winner last year, here we have another very special bottling: 100% classic Port Ellen, with a superbly elegant, clean and mineral profile. At the nose it is initially restrained, and then it continually evolves into any sort of medicinal herbs: chamomile, genepy, gentian root… Only slightly waxy and organic, but on the contrary characterised by lemony white wine notes. The same can be said of the palate, in which the same elegant and crystalline profile envelops a balsamic but never overwhelming smokiness.
