Another legendary Port Ellen in a not-to-be-missed Collector’s Edition: juicier, sweeter, creamier than last year’s more austere release. Its peaty intensity is just as overwhelming as the honeyed, malty and waxy notes. Give it time as it deserves, and it will showcase a wonderful herbal fragrance, liquorice, and a whiff of mint and propolis. What is particularly surprising is that at such a high alcohol content, it is surprisingly drinkable, intense but also smooth, even without the addition of water. Of course some drops of pure water will help releasing its complex flavours and its mineral notes… but the choice is up to you.
