Gold Medal at Milano Whisky Festival 2016
Two years after our previous award-winning House Malt from Islay, we are proud to present a new release from the same vintage. The whisky has matured even further, building even more Oloroso sherry influence… if that was possible! Because this is an Islay malt from an undisclosed distillery, but a completely unpeated one that tries to disguise as a robust old-fashioned Speysider. From its ruby red color and its winey nose ripe with sweet cherries, dark chocolate and coffee, you would be once again led to think it was a Macallan from 30 years ago. This style of big chewy sherry is so different from today’s Oloroso-aged malts, and always a fascinating one. A thick, raisiny, spicy but extremely round and supple whisky, the ultimate after-dinner dram.
