Silver Medal Milano Whisky Festival 2012

Our House Malt has always been a best-seller: a chewy, luscious Islay whisky from a secret distillery at a great value for money. This year we are proud to present for the first time a limited single cask release of it, fully matured in Oloroso oak: just as rich as its younger sibling, but spicier and even more complex. At the nose it’s restrained in peat intensity, deeply organic and with a lovely fragrance of orange peel and tangerines, but also slightly leathery. It’s on the tongue that the peat makes its real appearance, balanced by a wonderful interplay of sweet and dry from the sherry, liquorice, candied oranges, and just the right amount of pepper.
