A young, vibrant and playful Glenrothes, with just the right amount of Oloroso sherry to give it a dry style, but only a hint of winey character. At the nose it’s nutty, peppery, fruity but with restraint. Its dry and spicy style becomes immediately evident at the first sip: clean, chiselled, not fat or overripe with oak. Fresh and candied oranges, a touch of beeswax, and finally a note of flour and cereals that almost becomes biscuity. The aftertaste is very spicy and stimulating, inviting to another sip. Overall, a light bodied Speyside malt that finds its perfect place as an aperitif thanks to its fresh taste, maybe with a dash of cool water.
