Gold Medal at Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2022

A very delicate and fragrant single malt from Speyside, but with exciting new twists thanks to the contribution of Virgin Oak. The sunny maltiness that is so typical of this distillery is matched at the nose by slightly citrusy notes, a hint of beeswax, chamomile and meadow flowers. Gentle, well balanced and absolutely traditional. The influence of the casks starts to be noticeable at the first sip: it still is a flowery, delicate, clean and fragrant whisky, but with a richer body than usual. The sweetness is almost honeyed, with pleasant notes of vanilla and banana, but after a few seconds its profile begins taking a turn. Intensity grows, and a nervous spicy character complements the sweetness: pepper and mustard, adding liveliness to the velvety honey.
