A very classic, clean Clynelish, which perfectly showcases the quality of the spirit without too much intervention from the oak. At the nose, the typical aromas of this distillery: a hint of pears, then aniseed and plenty of wax. Its crystalline style is particularly striking: straightforward, pure, with the sweetness staying in the background. The palate follows the same style, but it also has a subtle touch of peat and ends in a very firm mineral note. Even at standard alcohol levels, this is a very intense and tasty whisky, with an impressive body. Clynelish is a robust malt, and its best expressions give their best without need of too much contribution from the oak, for a style that is reminiscent of ultra-classic bottlings from decades ago.
