The success of our first full sherry Caol Ila was expected. We knew we had a gem, and everybody loved it: when peated Islay meets Oloroso sherry, the result can often be stunning. If we have to nitpick, this sister cask is just as sherried as #10027 but maybe a tad smoother and even better integrated. Again, expect lots of tar, leather, liquorice, with an aromatic herbal overtone to add complexity to the winey and smoky character. And if you pay attention, also a stunning note of orange rind. This is a bottling which will become legendary for its quality and rarity (how many sherried Caol Ilas have you had a chance to taste?), so hurry up to pick one because there aren’t many around!
